LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – After previously firing two members for violations of its no alcohol policy, the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District has dismissed five more firefighters.

The firefighters were among eight department members suspended on July 2 after alcohol was found inside Station No. 5, located at 6902 Manslick Road.

Colonel Vincent Smith, chief of the department, previously told WAVE 3 that an internal investigation had been started in June after he received a written complaint against personnel staffing Station No. 5.

Smith shut the station down in July after alcohol was found there.

In a statement released to WAVE 3, Smith stated the department's Board of Trustees decided "the preponderance of the evidence" against each of the five members supported the charges against them.
