I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day holiday!

We've seen a soggy holiday weekend, but WAVE 3's Lauren Jones says that's about to change.  We'll get your back-to-work forecast when you join us for WAVE 3 News at 11.

A former Kentucky sheriff and his wife spent 53 together and died just days apart.  WAVE 3's Matt McCutcheon has more on the loss as his community is feeling as they say goodbye to both Herbert Proffitt and his wife, Bernice.

When I heard about WAVE 3's Katie Bauer's story, I was reminded just how unfair life is sometimes.  The young man killed in a motorcycle crash last night on Brownsboro Road was a Kentucky Airman, who returned less than 24 hours before from overseas.  Katie will let you hear from the woman who worked to save him.

Plus, a World War II veteran grabbed his rifle to defend his home overnight and now two other men are charged.  We'll let you hear from that vet.

We'll see you at 11:00 after Grimm on NBC!
