LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A group
called the Coalition for the Advancement of Regional Transportation, or CART,
has filed a suit against the Ohio River Bridges Project.
CART claims the multi-billion
dollar project leaves no money for public transportation and prevents any
improvements to the regional public transportation system.
The group added the
bridges project will provide very little benefit to most residents in Kentuckiana.
CART'S lawsuit makes 14
claims against the Ohio River Bridges Project, including civil rights
violations.
CART historically has been
behind a plan for a light rail system and believes local politicians scrapped
the plan for the bridges project.
