Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team gives us a dose of can-do spirit

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE , KY (WAVE) – The Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) primary goal is to raise awareness of the sacrifices of our military and to highlight our soldiers' ability to rise above any challenge, but they're doing much more than playing a game.

The group of men that comprise the team are veterans and active duty soldiers who have lost limbs post 9-11 while serving their country in the military. Some men are still in the service while others are attending college or have moved on to new careers.

The athletes on the WWAST are pushing the limits of modern prosthetic technology. They are athletic and inspirational.

They show us all, able-bodied people and amputees alike that we can truly bounce back from anything.
