LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Louisville man accused of shooting a 12-year-old in the back has asked a Jefferson Circuit judge for shock probation.

In June 2011, Louisville Metro Police arrested Michael Bishop for shooting Jacob Eberle in the Glenmary subdivision. The shooting happened in response to a game of Ding Dong Ditch that Eberle and a group of children were playing.

In July, Bishop took an Alford plea and started serving his 10 year sentence immediately.

Judge McKay Chauvin is expected to rule on the motion when Bishop appears in court in November.
