CLARK COUNTY, IN (WAVE) – Clark County authorities are searching for a missing 19-year-old man.

Ethan H. Bennett was last seen on Tuesday, September 11 driving his parents' silver 2001 Jaguar in the Sellersburg, IN area.  The car, with Indiana license plate number is RJU784, is also missing.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office says they don't believe anything criminal has happened, but they are worried because Ethan left that night without his cell phone or wallet.

Tony Bennett, Ethan's father, just can't understand why his 19-year-old son would pick up and leave without warning.

"If there is anything you need, anything you want, any help I can get you, please let me know," Bennett spoke to his son during a press conference. "Just know that your family loves you very, very much."

Tony says Ethan said good-bye to another family member, who was in their Sellersburg home around 11:30 p.m. on September 11th. He said he was going to a friend's house.

"Ethan can be somewhat mercurial at times," said Tony Bennett. "He's very social. He has a lot of friends and the thing that particularly disturbs me is that he has had no contact with him that I can tell from the point that he left the house on Tuesday."

A tip came into the Clark County Sheriff's Office later in the week. "The last sighting we had of him was last Friday on Veteran's Parkway possibly heading south on the interstate," said Detective Randy Burton, Clark County Sheriff's Office.

Ethan's older brother, Zachary Bennett, is away at college in Tennessee, but says he is worried sick about his brother.

"That's the thing that eats me up, he wouldn't tell any of his friends and especially me," said Zachary Bennett. "He just took off. I just don't know. That's the worst part of the thing is not knowing."

Ethan was not currently in school, but his father says he planned on re-enrolling at Ivy Tech this spring. He says Ethan was having trouble finding a job.

"I'm potentially concerned that there could have been some depression, sure," said Tony Bennett. "I'm left with a lot of guessing and not a lot of answers."

Zachary last spoke to his brother last Monday. "He seemed fine, but I'm just really glad the last thing I got to them him is 'I love you'."

Bennett does have a relatively clean criminal background, but he is currently going through the court system for a public intoxication charge.

Anyone with information about Ethan's whereabouts should call the Clark County Sheriff's Office at 812-246-6996 or the agency's anonymous tip line at 812-280-2276.
