HODGENVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police have identified a body found Thursday morning near LaRue County Middle School as a missing person from the Hodgenville area.
In a press release, Trooper Norman Chaffins of the KSP Elizabethtown post said troopers were called about 9 a.m. by LaRue County deputies about the body, which was found floating in a pond across from the school just off S. Lincoln Blvd.
Chaffins said troopers were able to link the body to a recent missing persons case. Family members were able to identify the dead man is James Everett Martin, 43, of Hodgenville. Martin had been reported missing Saturday.
An autopsy will be performed in Louisville to determine the cause of Martin's death.
The property where the body was found is a maintenance facility owned by the county.
