LMDC inmate makes brief escape

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Metro Corrections inmate is back behind bars after escaping early Thursday morning.

Metro officials told WAVE 3 around 6:30 a.m. Donnie Haycraft was working kitchen detail and when he went to empty a trash container he took off.

Haycraft was arrested hours later at a home on Cofer Avenue in Pleasure Ridge Park.

At the time of his escape Haycraft was considered a minimum custody inmate trustee.
