The fair board met to discuss their budget.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A $5
million hole was the topic of a Kentucky State Fair Board discussion.
Thursday, the board met at
the Kentucky Exposition Center to ratify its budget for the upcoming year.
The board voted to approve
a budget which projects a deficit of more than $5 million.
New construction projects
and capital expenditures eat into the majority of the board's revenue.
The fair board has been
looking for additional revenue sources after it lost the operator of Kentucky Kingdom
and the contract to manage the KFC Yum! Center.
