LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – With temperatures dropping around WAVE Country many people are in need of assistance to pay their heating bills.

Early registration for the Low-Income Home Assistance Program in Louisville will begin Monday, October 1, at the Newburg Community Center, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

During the month of October only the elderly and people on disability are allowed to pre register.

Those who want to apply for the assistance need to provide a picture ID, proof of household income, a social security card and their most recent heating bill.

If you do not meet the early registration but would still like to apply you can set-up an appointment, in person, on October, 31 and November 1 at the CAP Office located in the Urban Government Center at 810 Barrett Avenue, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Appointments can also be made at the same center on November 2 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

All three CAP offices will begin taking appointments beginning November 5, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with exception to the Newburg location which is closed on Fridays.
