SW Indiana man dies in Shelby County crash

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A two vehicle accident Sunday night on Interstate 64 in western Shelby County has killed a Newburgh, IN man.

According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes at the 28.8 mile marker just before 10:30 p.m. September 30.

Deputies said a Toyota Prius hit the rear of a dump truck that was ahead of it. After hitting the truck, the Prius went off the road and hit several trees.

The driver of the Prius, Brant A. Bloss, 80, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the dump truck, Charles Hicks, of Scottsburg, IN, was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Shelby County Sheriff's Office.
