Palmyra Indiana must deal with aging storm water system

PALMYRA, IN (WAVE) - The three member of the Palmyra Town Council are wrestling with an aging storm water system that does not run through the entire town.

Officials continue to pursue an $800,000 grant to replace the system and hopefully end some flooding in the process.

Palmyra Town Council President Virginia Kirkham said "The storm water system - we need to find out where some of this water is going. It is not going into the storm water drains that we have right now." Officials also said that a water study must also be conducted.

The council hopes to file the application by the spring of 2013.
