Lanes reopen after crashes on I-64

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro police are on the scene of two accidents on Interstate 64.

MetroSafe confirmed at 4:15 p.m. police were called to the initial accident on westbound I-64 at the 21 mile marker, near the Shelby County line. The accident involved a box truck and one or two passenger vehicles.

According to MetroSafe around 4:50 p.m. a second accident occurred in the back up caused from the first wreck.

One person involved in the initial crash was transported to University of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A second person involved in that crash was treated at the scene.

No one in the second injury was injured.

Police shut down portion of I-64 to make way for emergency equipment and to clean up a liquid spill. The road was reopened at 5:05 p.m.
