LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Residents from the Newburg and Buechel are protesting the Metropolitan Sewer District's plan to build a 40-acre sewage basin in their neighborhood.

The site is located around Produce Road and Poplar Level Road.

The protesters said they want a meeting with the mayor and MSD to talk about plans for the basin that will work for their community.

They are concerned that an open basin will cause odors, more mosquitoes and hurt their quality of life.
