Man accused of shooting motel employee identified

CLARKSVILLE, IN (WAVE) – The man accused of shooting a motel employee has been identified.

According to Clarksville police, Eric Preher showed up at the Pyramid Village Motel located off of Highway 31 east, around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said a woman was staying there and has informed the motel staff that she was having trouble with an ex-boyfriend.

Preher showed up at the hotel and got into a fight with the woman.

An employee stepped in and police said Preher shot him in the leg.

The victim is at University Hospital and is listed in fair condition.

Preher is in custody in Clark County. He is charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
