JEFFERSONTOWN, KY (WAVE) – A break in a water line has caused part of Plantside Drive in Jeffersontown to be closed to traffic.
According to Kelley Dearing-Smith with Louisville Water Company, the break happened in a line supplying a fire suppression service to a business in the Bluegrass Industrial Park.
Jeffersontown Police have closed Plantside Drive between Watterson Trial and Grassland Drive while LWC crews repair the leak.
Dearing-Smith said the line involved does not supply water to customers for drinking and that no customers are without water service. She also said there is no need to issue a boil water advisory and the water is safe to drink.
Because the leak caused part of the roadway to buckle, Dearing-Smith said it may be sometime Thursday before that section of Plantside Drive reopens to traffic.
