LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A convicted sex offender arrested by Metro police was also wanted for sex crimes in Germany.

On September 28 an officer used the Louisville Metro mapping tool and discovered Robert Stiver, 58, was residing 980 feet from Little Blessings Child Development Center, a violation of the Kentucky Sex Offender laws.

He found Stivers around 2 p.m. on Iowa Avenue. Stivers was arrested and charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registration laws.

Wednesday it was discovered Stiver also had a warrant out for his arrest from the German Interpol for sexual abuse of children in nine cases.

Stivers was convicted in 2009 of sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age in addition to a sodomy charge involving a 9-year-old.
