ACT Camp

Louisville Central Community Centers' (LCCC) Teen Leadership Council (TLC) will present a free ACT Camp from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Simmons College of Kentucky, located at 1018 S. 7th St., in Louisville.  The camp will be led by B.Y.F. Consulting, a firm that specializes in helping young people improve their ACT scores.

Opening the camp will be a guest motivational speaker who will provide information about preparing for a successful ACT test.  There will be several testimonials from young people led by Megan Robinson, a TLC member and a valedictorian of Central High School class of 2012. They will share their experience as a result of participating in a previous ACT Workshop.

This workshop is a "first come first serve" opportunity and it requires pre-registration by calling LCCC at (502) 583-8821.  A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.

President Kurnisha Jackson of the LCCC Teen Leadership Council explained that "the purpose of the council is to help peers reach their highest potential. It is their hope that through this workshop prospective high school graduates in 2013 through 2015 will develop the skills to support their preparation for the upcoming ACT exams.

LCCC serves over 750 low-income and disadvantaged families annually by offering early childhood education, a comprehensive youth development program with emphasis on educational achievement, fine arts and leadership development, employment support services with a focus on career planning, job training and financial literacy.  For more information, please visit www.lcccnews.org.
