Deadly accident on I-264 in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Traffic on the westbound I-264 in Shively is flowing again after a deadly accident Friday afternoon closed the road.

According to MetroSafe, the single car accident happened around 2:38 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-264 just west of Dixie Highway.

From Air 3 we can see the car involved went off the right side of the roadway and struck a support column for sound barrier walls being constructed in the area.

Westbound I-264 traffic was diverted off the Watterson at Dixie Highway while police investigated the crash. The road reopened around 7 Friday evening.
