Cheyanne Smith (Source: LMDC)LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Jefferson County Public Schools student is facing charges after being accused of threatening a girl with a gun.
According to an arrest report, officers were called to Dixie Highway near Valley High School at 6;25 p.m. Thursday on a report of a suspect with a gun.
When police arrived at the scene a woman stated that Cheyanne Smith, 18, had flashed a gun at her daughter.
Officers asked Smith for consent to search her backpack and she allowed them. Smith admitted to police she had a gun in her backpack. Officers were able to find a chrome gun with four live rounds and two spent. The gun was in a holster with a Jefferson Special Police badge number 109, which is a local contract security firm.
Smith is charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
