Kindergartner gets surprise Halloween treat

JESSAMINE COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - A Halloween surprise came early for a little kindergartner in Jessamine County.

Brooklyn Corson, 5, went with her class to pick out a pumpkin on Friday.

Brooklyn had always picked out fall pumpkins with her mother, Sergeant First Class Catherine Corson, but this year was different because he mother was on duty in Afghanistan.

As it turned out, Brooklyn's mother was released earlier than expected and she was waiting for the class as they finished walking through a hay bale maze.

"I heard you were sad this morning because we weren't going to pick a pumpkin. Guess what, we get to pick a pumpkin," Brooklyn's mother sang to her.

Brooklyn also got a second surprise, her mother told her she won't be going back overseas.
