Students suspended for cell phone photos

ROWAN COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – About a dozen students were not able to participate in homecoming activities this weekend in Rowan County, Kentucky.

The students were suspended on Friday from Rowan County Senior High School for allegedly having inappropriate photos on their cell phones.

School officials said the activity happened away from school. Those students are also suspended on Monday and many will not be able to use their phones at school for the rest of the year.

No charges have been filed, but a criminal investigation is under way to determine if any laws were broken.
