Man who led police on chase, standoff dies

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A man who led police on a chase from southern Indiana to Valley Station died.

Metro police released on Tuesday Timothy Webb died in the hospital one day after the chase took place.

The chase started on September 12 when a car was reported as stolen.

A  GPS in the vehicle allowed police to locate the car and led them to 10th and Main Streets in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

Police said Webb was behind the wheel and took off when they tried to stop him.

The chase ended in Valley Station when Webb jumped out of the car and ran into an apartment on East Orell Road.

A standoff ensued, but ended when officers said Webb shot himself. Webb died as a result from those injuries.

Nobody else was injured.
