Governor urges drivers not to text and drive

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear wants to send a message to drivers, but not the kind that might distract them if they are behind the wheel.

Beshear joined with AT&T and Kentucky State Police to encourage Kentuckians not to text and drive. The governor proclaimed Wednesday Don't Text and Drive Day.

Kentucky passed a law against texting while driving two years ago.
