VAN METER, IA (WAVE) – Mitt Romney said he will stop talking about his chance meeting with a former Navy Seal who was killed during the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya.
Glen Doherty was among four Americans killed last month in Benghazi. In recent days, Romeny has been telling voters he met Doherty at a Christmas party in San Diego a few years ago.
Doherty's mother said she wants the presidential candidate to stop using her son's name as part of his political agenda. The Romney campaign said it would respect Mrs. Doherty's wishes.
