Next step to find hospital partner authorized

University Hospital.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The University of Louisville board of trustees has authorized the next step in finding a hospital partner.

The board voted to allow University Hospital's executive vice president of health affairs to complete negotiations and finalize an agreement with a new partner for University Medical Center and UofL.

An agreement will be signed with one of the organizations who responded to a February request for proposals.

UofL has been looking for a health care partner since January when Governor Steve Beshear rejected an earlier proposed deal with KentuckyOne Healthcare.
