Dorm to remain closed after discovery of mold

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A number of university residence halls will remain open following the discovery of mold.

According to the University of Louisville, all 270 Miller Hall residents have moved to other housing complexes.

Miller Hall closed on October 14 so crews could thoroughly clean the building.

A few mold samples were discovered in Threlkeld, Wellness and West Halls in addition to Miller Hall, but the school said the mold can be treated without relocating residents.

Rooms with visible mold will be cleaned over the next few days by specifically trained crews.

Miller Hall is expected to remain closed for the remainder of the semester.
