LOUISVILLE, KY. (WAVE) - The American Cancer Society's 15th annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Louisville will be held on Sunday, October 28 at Waterfront Park.
The 5K walk unites the entire community to celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about the importance of early detection and prevention, and raise money to fund research.
Making Strides participant and breast cancer survivor Rose Phillips is excited about this event and her opportunity to walk.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk again this year here in Louisville" said Phillips. "I hope it will bring us one step closer to a cure."
Community members are invited to be part of Louisville's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. There is no pre-registration or registration fee. Registration begins at 11:30 and the walk starts at 1 p.m.
This event is open to the public. Volunteers are also needed to provide their time and talent to ensure this year's event is a success.
