New Amazon center ships first package, seeks holiday help

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – The new Amazon fulfillment center in Jeffersonville shipped its first package on Wednesday. A Halloween costume was sent to a customer in Texas.

Ground was broken on the new fulfillment center in April 2012. It is located in the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville.

About 900 people work at the center, which is looking for more temporary workers to help meet demand during the busy holiday season.
