If the electoral college vote finishes in a 269-269 tie,
mirroring the current national polling that has the Presidential election
popular vote at 47 percent each, Congress will decide who will be our President for
the next four years.
Clearly, your vote will matter greatly – not just for
President, but for United States Senate and House of Representatives.
Please vote – and be an informed voter when you do.
It is a privilege to be taken seriously.
As important as your vote is for Federal offices, bone up as
well on your knowledge base for local and state offices. They are also hugely important.
Several Board of Education seats are being voted on for
Jefferson County, Kentucky Public Schools. The winners will be responsible for approving how nearly a billion
dollars of your taxes are spent for the next four years. They will also establish tax rates and review
the education program. Arguably those
jobs are as important as any in Louisville.
40 states exceeded Kentucky's 58 percent voter turnout four
years ago and only five states exceeded a 70 percent voter turnout. Let's make Kentucky and Indiana be among them
this year.
