Murder trial delayed after first day

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One day after a murder trial began there was a delay in the case.

Steven Pettway is accused of murdering Troya Sheckles in 2009 in Shelby Park.

The trial was put on hold for two days so the defense can review evidence in the form of statements that were just released to them.

Another man, Dejuan Hammond, will also stand trial for Sheckles murder.
