RADCLIFF, KY (WAVE) – A burglary suspect was shot in the neck by a Kentucky State Police trooper in Radcliff early Saturday morning, according to a KSP spokesperson.

Public Affairs Officer Norman Chaffins said the trooper was responding to a complaint of a home burglary in progress in the 6000 block of South Wilson Road when he witnessed two males coming out of the woods next to the residence. They started to get into a black Chevrolet pickup truck.

Chaffins said the trooper ordered one of the suspects to show his hands, but the suspect approached the trooper and refused to comply. The suspect then rummaged through the back of the pickup truck, produced a weapon and turned toward the trooper, according to Chaffins. The trooper fired one shot and struck the suspect in the neck.

The suspect, Joshua S. Blough, 25, of Big Clifty in Grayson County, is listed as stable at University of Louisville Hospital. The other suspect is in police custody. His name has not been released.
