SPRINGFIELD, KY (WAVE) – A tour bus
driver from Bullitt County was seriously injured when the vehicle was involved
in a crash in Washington County, KY on Saturday, according to Kentucky State
Police.
Investigators said Roderick L. Cook,
45, of Brooks, KY was traveling east on US 150 when he failed to stop for the
red light at the intersection of KY 555 in Springfield. The bus slammed into a
GMC pickup truck traveling south on KY 555. The driver of the pickup truck,
William Sims, 52, of Williamsburg, KY was treated and released from Springview
Hospital in Lebanon, KY.
Cook was flown to University of
Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington where he was listed in critical but stable
condition Saturday night.
Troopers said Cook was the only person
aboard the tour bus, which is owned by Mattingly Tours and Travel of Bardstown.
Sims also was traveling alone.
