MULDRAUGH, KY (WAVE) - There is one shelter set up for anyone who needs a place to stay Monday night.

The Red Cross has cots and food available at the old Muldraugh Elementary building on 31W in Meade County. They are also trying to find a way to make it a pet friendly shelter.

The Red Cross said everyone from Katherine Station Road to Abbotts Beach Road who were forced out of homes has told them they have a place to go.

People in surrounding areas, like West Point, are allowed to stay in their homes because the wind is blowing the hazardous vapors away from the area according to their mayor. If that changes, they may be evacuated and the Red Cross says they are ready to offer a place to stay.

They said there are no plans to open a shelter on the Jefferson County side of the evacuation area.
