LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The names of the two children killed in the crash of a pre-school bus Monday in Carroll County have been released.
According to Kentucky State Police, Ryder Deitz and Caroline Tuttle, both 3, died at the scene of the crash on Boone Road.
The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. when the bus carrying nine children and two adults went off the road, partially overturned and struck a tree.
Six other children on the bus were taken to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. Two have been released after treatment, but the other four others remain hospitalized. Three of the children are in the ICU.
Two KSP accident reconstruction teams are part of the investigation. One team is examining the bus to look for any mechanical issues that may have been factors in the crash. The second team is handling the investigation.
