Customer wounded in shooting during holdup

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A customer has been shot during an early morning holdup at a convenience store.

According to MetroSafe the shooting was reported at 5:08 a.m. at the Speedway at 3030 Taylor Boulevard, on the corner of Central Avenue near Churchill Downs.

Louisville Metro Police say that three black men armed with guns came into the store robbing both customers and the business. For an unknown reason, one of the men shot a customer before leaving the store.

The wounded man was taken to University Hospital by Metro EMS. The condition of the man is not known, but he was said to be alert and conscious.

The three men wanted for the robbery and shooting fled on foot. Detectives remained at the store interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence.

Anyone with information about the wanted men is asked to call the LMPD Crime Tip Line at 574-LMPD (5673). All calls to the Crime Tip Line are anonymous.

    The mother of two-year-old William Roberts took her eyes off her son for a couple minutes Saturday afternoon, according to police. The toddler disappeared in a creek in Borden, Indiana around 230 p.m.
