Toddler struck by vehicle

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A toddler was transported to a hospital after being struck by a vehicle.

According to MetroSafe, at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday police received a call that a toddler had been struck by a vehicle in a neighborhood near Bayou Way and Blossom Lane.

When police arrived they discovered the child hit was a 3-year-old girl who was trick-or-treating.

The girl was transported to Kosair Children's Hospital. According to LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell the child's injuries are non-life threatening.

LMPD is investigating. Currently, it is unclear how the child was struck by the vehicle.
