No school for Nichols Elementary on Thursday

BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) – An elementary school will be closed on Thursday after a train derailment caught fire.

According to the Superintendent of Bullitt County Schools Keith Davis, Nichols Elementary will be closed.

Teachers and staff employed at the school are being asked to report to Bullitt Lick Middle School on Thursday.

Davis said free child care will be provided at Bullitt Lick Middle School. If you would like to drop your child off, you are asked to do so at the normal Nichols Elementary starting time and you are asked to pick them up when you normally would.

The state will determine if this school day will need to be made up.
