LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro officials have lifted the five mile radius shelter-in-place order set after a train derailment caught fire Wednesday.

The 1.2 mile radius evacuation order remains in effect for residents in the area.

Air and river restrictions have also been lifted.

Bullitt County Public Schools have announced Nichols Elementary will be closed on Friday. Free child care will be provided at Bullitt Lick Middle School.

If you would like to drop your child off, you are asked to do so at the normal Nichols Elementary starting time and you are asked to pick them up when you normally would.

Louisville Metro Animal Services has a temporary shelter for evacuees who own pets.
