Needle found in child's Halloween candy

WINCHESTER, KY (WAVE) – The parents of an 8-year-old girl said they found something unexpected in her bag of Halloween candy, a medical needle.

The parents took the girl to the hospital as a precaution.

Neighbors said the incident was concerning for the entire neighborhood and many parents threw candy out after hearing about what they had found.

Police are investigating, but they believe it was an accidental and isolated occurrence.
