LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The condition of three workers who were hospitalized after a train derailment caught fire on Wednesday has been released.

One of the victims, a paid P&L contractor who was listed in serious condition on Wednesday, was released from the hospital. He said he wanted everyone to know he was feeling much better.

The two other men who were injured were employed by the company that was cleaning up the derailment site, RJ Corman.

One employee who was listed in critical condition has been upgraded to serious condition. On Wednesday we were told the other employee was listed in very critical condition.

Thursday, MetroSafe Emergency Management said the patient in very critical condition had been upgraded to critical condition.

Chemical explosions can cause victims to have breathing issues, and second and third degree burns take a long time to heal causing the danger of infection and a weakened immune system.
