WAVE 3 Investigates 'The Darkest Day' – Monday at 11pm

Posted: Updated:

WAVE 3 News wouldn't normally investigate a news event that is 5 years away. This is an exception. On August 21, 2017 we will experience a scientific phenomenon that has never been seen in our lifetime. The sky will go dark. The stars will come out. The world will watch. All of this at 1:30 in the afternoon here in Kentucky and Indiana. Watch the video of WAVE 3 Storm Tracking Team meteorologist Brian Goode explaining a little more about this story and why it has hotels booked 5 years in advance just to see it.

Now, that is only part of the story. Monday at 11:00p.m. on WAVE 3 News, we'll show you why this event in the future is strangely connected to another notable moment in Kentucky's history. The mystery that has been ignored for more than 50 years will come back to life. The incident, at a small farm in Kentucky, has people from around the world making plans to be here in 2017. It's a bizarre story that will be talked about long after our investigations airs on Monday night at 11.

Join us, as we start the clock on the worldwide countdown to the "The Darkest Day" on Monday night after The Voice and Revolution on WAVE 3 News at 11:00p.m. and follow the buzz on Facebook and on Twitter. (#darkestday)
