Officers outside of the bank on Monday.
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – One Louisville school was on lockdown Monday afternoon and another had heightened security while Louisville Metro Police investigated a nearby bank robbery.
Holy Cross High School at 4155 Dixie Highway was put on lockdown and Kerrick Elementary School at 2210 Upper Hunters Trace increased security from level 2 to level 3. A Jefferson County Public Schools spokesperson said Kerrick was not locked down because JCPS schools were not in session today.
A MetroSafe dispatcher said the nearby Stock Yards Bank branch at 5300 Dixie Highway was robbed this afternoon and the suspect got away.
The schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution and the students were released at their normal times without incident.
If you have any information on the robbery you are asked to call police at (502) 574-LMPD.
