LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Students at Zachary
Taylor Elementary School are helping make the upcoming holiday season bright
for American troops serving overseas.
On Wednesday, they made cards for the
soldiers who won't be home for the holidays this year. It's part of a Red Cross
effort in Kentuckiana to get 30,000 cards to soldiers overseas.
"It makes me feel happy," said
third-grader Turahnna Browder. "They don't get up in the morning to see
Christmas, so we send those cards so they can see they have Christmas."
Anyone can contribute cards through
December 7 by mailing them or dropping them off at their local Red Cross or by
mailing them to:
Holiday Mail for Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
Cards received after December 7 cannot
be guaranteed delivery.
