Two grocery store employees charged with theft

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two Kroger employees have been charged with theft.

According to police reports, Joseph Keeylen and Montez Smith were both employed at the Kroger located at 5244 Dixie Highway.

Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday police arrested Smith on a report alleging between October 30 and November 2 he stole $4,500 worth of prepaid gift cards. The report stated Smith was a cashier and would load the gift cards without paying for them.

Keeylen was arrested at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday after a report that alleged he stole $800 worth of gift cards from October 31 to November2.

Smith and Keeylen are charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.
