Man accused of stealing same item from several stores

LOUISIVLLE, KY (WAVE) – A man accused of stealing one item multiple times from multiple Meijer locations was arrested.

According to a police report, Aaron Setters was arrested at 3:14 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the report, on October 24 Setters entered the Meijer located on Westport Road, took diabetic strips from the shelf and left without paying for them. The value of the strips was $379. 94, Two days later, he entered the same store and took the same product without paying.

On October 30, police said Setters entered the Meijer on Preston Highway where he stole more diabetic strips valued at $818.33.

The report states Setters was known by a Meijer employee and that the strips are kept in a locked box that must be opened by an employee. Setters would allegedly take the box to a separate location in the store, emptied the strips out of the box and leave the box behind.

Setters were also accused of stealing from a Target on October 20. The report states during the Target incident a security guard tried to stop him and Setters shoved the guard into a customer's child. He got away, but employees were able to get his license plate number.

Setters is charged with four counts of shoplifting for the Meijer thefts.
