Veterans offered free food at participating restaurants

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – As a show of support and gratitude for the men and women who have served in the armed forces, many national and local restaurants will offer veterans and active duty military free meals or menu items on the Sunday, November 11 Veterans Day observance and/or the Monday, November 12 federal holiday.    

What follows is a partial list of participating restaurants, the freebies they will offer, and the date or dates they will participate.

November 11 and 12:

  • California Pizza Kitchen: Free pizza and drink
  • Outback Steakhouse: Free Bloomin' Onion appetizer and drink
  • UNO: Free entrée or individual pizza with an entrée of pizza of equal or greater value

 

Sunday, November 11 ONLY:

  • Applebees: Free Applebees Signature Entrée
  • Olive Garden: Free entree
  • Hooters: 10 free boneless wings with drink purchase

 

Monday, November 12 ONLY:

  • Chammps Americana Restaurant: Free cheeseburger and fries
  • Friendly's: Free breakfast and coffee
  • Golden Corral: Free dinner from 4 to 9 p.m.
  • Sizzler: Free lunch (Choose from 6 oz. steak, Malibu Chicken or Half Dozen Fried Shrimp)

 

November 12 - 30:

  • On the Border: Free entrée certificate valid up to $10; 15 percent of the purchase will be donated to Carry the Load
