LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two young
children were found screaming in the backseat of a car while their parents were
passed out, due to drugs, in the front seat, according to police.
Louisville Metro police said someone
saw a car swerve and called them after the car parked at the Marathon gas
station located at Lexington Road and Payne Street on Thursday night.
When police arrived they said Samantha
and Kerry Poynter were passed out in the front seat with their 3-year-old and
4-year-old children in the backseat. When officers arrived they found the car
was in drive and an officer had to reach into the car and turn it off.
Officers searched the car and found a bottle
Both adults are charged with
endangering the welfare of a child and possession of a controlled substance.
