Coroner identifies victims in Hillview shootings

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Michelle Hahn, 46, of Shepherdsville, has been identified by the coroner as the woman shot and killed Saturday about 12:30 p.m. in the Walmart parking lot at 11901 Standiford Plaza in Hillview.

Funeral arrangements for Hahn are pending at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt, 111 N. Bardstown Road, in Mt. Washington.

"Shocking," is how Ken Cornett, a neighbor of Hahn's describes what happened.

LMPD Officer Cary Klain said it appears that Hahn was killed while putting items into her car. The suspect in the shooting, Charles Richard Fickentsher, 44, reportedly left the scene and later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a car at McNeely Lake about 1:25 p.m.

"It bothers me that she was took out so fast in her life. Evidently she never knew what happened," Cornett said. "Most likely, she didn't ask for nothing. Didn't do anything to deserve that. It is aggravating."

Cornett said he met Fickentsher once.

"Back in August, I run into [him] he said he was her boyfriend back then," Cornett said.

With 2 families planning funerals, Cornett remembers Hahn who he knew in passing.

"Her husband which passed away a few years ago of cancer. But, she was real nice and sweet," Cornett said. "The sentiments of all the neighbors up and down through here. If there's anything we can do to help, just let us know."

Cornett said Hahn leaves behind between 1 and 3 children. He said the youngest is about 19 years old.

"I know it'll have a definite impact on them," he said.

Funeral arrangements for Fickentsher are pending.
