Passing hemp legislation top priority of Ag Commissioner

FRANKFORT, KY (WAVE) - Passing hemp legislation will be a top priority in the next session of the State General Assembly, according to the Kentucky Commissioner of Agriculture.

Ag Commissioner James Comer touted hemp's potential at the first meeting of the Kentucky Industrial Hemp Commission in a decade.

Car parts, including an arm rest made of hemp, were cited as an examples of the crop's potential.

Comer said it is vital that Kentucky is at the forefront of the hemp movement.
